Project Pat is the newest addition to our little family. He’s exciting and loves to play, but is also the MOST laid back dog I have ever met. We think he is somewhere in between 4 and 5 years old. He fits right in with Casey and me and we are so happy to have him. We first mentioned getting a dog last summer. We knew we were moving into a house with a yard and I knew that I needed a buddy to keep me company at the LU Studio all day. We decided it was a perfect time to start looking for the right pup for us. Casey, though, happens to be allergic to 99% of all dogs. It was decided that we must have a dog that was just like the dog C grew up with, a schnauzer. I was dying for a giant, but in our little one bedroom a miniature just worked out better. We definitely wanted to rescue a dog, so we found Schnauzer Love Rescue in Birmingham, AL. Their list of available pets included P, but with our imminent  plans to be in Ecuador for a month pushed back our looking. Well, when plans changed and we stayed in the country, we immediately decided to pursue Pitty Pat. Within two weeks he was ours and will always be our little guy. He’s one of the best things about us now and we would not have it any other way. We always had a sweet spot for adopting a pet, but knew that we had to search for a specific kind. SLR was absolutely amazing and incredibly thorough. We appreciate the time and effort they put into finding the perfect home for Patton. We recommend them any day! He’s with us every where we go, so one can only assume he’ll meet everyone we know! Have a wonderful weekend. Happy Friday!

There are so many great photos and stories from that trip that I can’t wait to share, but I just wanted to start off a great weekend with this lovely shot! So as an awesome treat, my precious husband got me the coolest Fujifilm Instax Mini camera! We have had the best time playing with it(and the instant gratification is a big plus)! We are headed to Nashville to shoot Cliff and Jodie’s wedding this weekend! We can’t wait to be apart of their big day and we are also thrilled to get to squeeze in some time with lots of our Nashville buddies! Hope you enjoy a little slice of the world of Zumwalt today! We’re back! We have been so crazy busy traveling, that Self Portrait Friday has gotten pushed to the bottom of the list, but today is the day when we return! Traveling to Southern Mississippi, Nashville, and Memphis has been wonderful the past four weeks. We have enjoyed all our time spent with old friends, new friends, and especially our family. Casey’s darling, AMAZING, beloved grandmother, Grandma Betty, met our Savior last week and with much grief we are relieved to know that she has been made perfect. We start back up with wedding season next Saturday (May 22-my 23rd!!!) and we are so excited to shoot Jordan and Katie’s big day. We had the opportunity to visit several places including Seattle, Centralia, Olympia, and my special treat, Forks. We had the best time exploring the Pacific Northwest and of course, we had a camera in hand to capture it all. These are just a few of the images that stole our breath and created memories we will never forget. We highly recommend Washington to anyone! If you have the opportunity to enjoy it, take it!

Due to a number of things, we never really had the opportunity to take a true honeymoon last fall. While this isn’t a “traditional” honeymoon in any shape, we’re taking some time off to enjoy each other and God’s amazing creation in the Pacific Northwest.  We’re so excited to have this break, but we’re definitely missing all of our wonderful friends and family.  We’ll be back next week!
