We had a blast getting to know this adorable couple on a breezy day towards the end of summer. Anna Catherine shares my affection for Twilight and the boys just rolled their eyes continuously while we chatted about the upcoming movie release. Anna Catherine and Jamal moved in sync the whole afternoon. Every step she took, he was one step behind lovingly and affectionately. It was so neat to get to share in their engagement with them. We were so excited to meet him and realize how wonderful they are together. Casey and I both knew Kaylan before we knew each other and now we are all friends! It’s always such an amazing thing for us to see those we care about deeply find a love like the one we share for each other. Andrew can’t even keep his eyes off of her for one second. This pair is even sweeter together than they are apart. It was truly our pleasure being let into their little world together for a few hours. We spent an early morning with the soon to be newlyweds at Andrew’s grandparents home and then ventured to Waffle House for some great breakfast and fun shots! The best idea ever = waffles and shooting at the same time ever. These are just a FEW of our favorites! We are so looking forward to December. Happy Happy Monday. Enjoy!

Leah and her groom, Eric, have been together for a long time and Leah’s just knocking on 22. While they were high school sweethearts at Pontotoc High School, these two have still got the bug. It’s quite sweet to be around them. Their wedding isn’t until the middle of next year, but they have the giddiness of a couple getting married next weekend. It was obvious for Casey and I to see that Eric will do anything to show Leah his love and cover her with his safekeeping. We had a blast getting to step in to their little world for a couple hours and we cannot wait to do so again in the coming months. Happy Wednesday! Enjoy!

June 13, 2011 Casey was offered a job with a wonderful company, Simple Focus. That was a Monday. He took the job that morning. We found a house in the Cooper Young area that Wednesday. We moved that Friday. We now call Memphis, Tennessee our home. We are learning the ropes of the new area and loving every minute. Even Project Pat feels at home close to his namesake. As we get settled in we just want to remind all of our past, present, and future clients that Lovely Union will keep a very large presence in Mississippi as well as Tennessee. We will be splitting our time between our “always home” and our “new home.” We are hopeful that Lovely Union will  grow outside of our two favorite states. We crave to travel and photograph amazing love stories across the country and even the globe. We look forward to many more I dos in MS as well as the rest of the map!

We had a blast photographing Katelyn and Warner a few weeks ago. They met at Ole Miss through one of our mutual friends and now they actually live in Memphis! These two warmed up to us very easily and we were able to make the trek through Oxford on an incredibly hot evening. Erin A. Kirkpatrick, of Amelia Presents on the square in Oxford, helped me pull off this lovely sunset picnic. Katelyn and Warner’s sweet spirits and amazing sense of humor came out immediately.  They go together so well. Such a perfect match! We are already so looking forward to October for their big day at William Faulkner’s place of marriage, College Hill Presbyterian. We are so glad to share the same town with the future Russell newlyweds. Happy Friday. Enjoy!

People love the Chapel of memories, and after shooting it so much we try to come up with new ideas and new locations around the area. I think we were successful with Chara and Evan! These two sweethearts were so much fun to be around on a sunny morning in early May! They actually became engaged right in front of the angel near the Chapel of Memories in the photo below. This sculpture is one of my favorites in the area. Evan grew up with my sister so I knew his face was familiar! Chara and Evan both grew up playing in the band and then met playing in the Maroon and White Band at MSU. Such a neat way to fall in love, over one of the things you have always have a lifelong love for! We are so excited for their wedding in November! Hopefully it will be much cooler! Happy Tuesday! Jessica has an impeccable smile, and David brings that smile out quite often. They have this sort of gentle love that is very comfortable to be around. When they are close to each other Jessica is always giggling like theirs is a newly kindled love. It was one of the first pretty warm days of the late spring, early summer, but they made the best of it by taking advantage of the setting sun and the cool evening breeze. Lauren is such a classic beauty and Garrig is obviously very aware of it. They are very in tune with each other and seem to be at their happiest when they are very near. Although they live in Oxford now, it was very neat to head back to all of their favorite spots in Starkville and share some of their fondest memories. They have this comfort about them like an 85 year couple does. They know each other’s ins and outs like my parents, who are knocking on thirty years together, do. It’s one of the neatest things ever to watch. I say that like they are a movie, but it is true, they move together like a great romantic film. To me Paige and Adam are like a page out of a novel by a great southern author. Sweet, comfortable, and simply in love. We can’t wait to meet their families and share in their nuptials together. The four of us spent a lovely Saturday morning in Oxford a few weeks ago exploring the city Tim grew up in. We love how classic these two look in their dress garb, and how they could actually both pull anything off! Shauna is the quintessential definition of southern sweetness and hospitality. Casey and I are in Jackson for Joe and Dianna’s wedding today, but I thought I would share Katie + Daniel’s engagement session before we hit the ground running! Katie and Daniel live in Washington! No, not our WA, the other one, the DC one. Katie is originally from Oxford and we had the best time traipsing through the city with them. They are too cute and too fun! They even had their brand new bikes shipped down for the shoot. Katie has impeccable style, and can rock heels on bicycle like nobody’s business. She is a journalist in DC so I thought it would be fun to shoot inside of Square Books instead of just on the outside this time! Daniel’s charming ways kept Katie so joyful throughout the shoot! I can’t wait to see their faces on their big da. Oh, and those MAGNIFICENT eyelashes…they are all hers! Happy happy weekend! Enjoy!
